If You’re Not Upselling Your eCommerce Customers, You’re Losing 20% of Your Business

A lot of businesses spend a lot of time trying to find new customers and while this is something that you should be doing, it is not the only place you should be spending your marketing time. In fact, you should also be trying to upsell your customers. If you are not making an effort to do this, you are losing up to 20% of your business.

Running a business online means that you have to do all of your selling online. You do not get a lot of time, if any, face to face with your eCommerce customers. Once you have acquired a customer, you are missing out on more potential income if you are not trying to sell them more or a better package, also known as upselling. Since you have already acquired the customer, you do not need to spend additional money to make an additional sale. All you need to do is automatically see if you can get them to purchase more since they have already purchased something from you.

By taking the time to upsell your current customers and try to sell them more of your products and services, you can stand to take more money, about 20% more. You can grow your business even faster when you do this and you can better help your customers. In order to do this, you need to find a way to make your current products or services even better.

Once you do that, you can offer the additional products or services as add-ons to their current order and you can capture these additional sales during the first purchase. You can also do this by selling to them later if you have an email list. Either way, you want to make sure that you make the most of the sales potential for each customer you acquire.
